December 2008

Christmas is one of my two favorite holidays. It's tied with Thanksgiving. Since we don't see our kids on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, we do our Christmas traditions on the day we decorate our tree. It's usually the soon after Thanksgiving. We play music, decorate the house and give them their new ornaments for that year. It's always a wonderful time. They are fantastic kids.

Ben got me a precious moments Cinderella and her prince ornament. What a romantic!

My family. All Six of us.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY SAM!!!!!
I can't believe a year is up already. We had a party with our friends and family at my mom's house. It wasn't elaborate, just cake and soda and veggies, but it was such a wonderful time to celebrate Sam's life. We had just officially dedicated him to the Lord that morning in church. I say officially because as soon as we found out he was coming we told the Lord that Sam belonged to him.

My sweet sister in law, Antonia. Sam loves spending time with her and her kids.

Opening his gifts. So many people blessed him with toys and books.

Costco cake is the best.

He wasn't sure how to eat it at first....

.....but before long, he got the hang of it!

Ben and his boy. They love each other so much!

Jon Ingham loves to wrestle with him

Grandma and Papa are so good to Sam. Stan is one of Sam's favorite people. In fact, if he had to choose between me and Ben holding him or Papa, he'd choose Papa hands down!

Just a shot of the friends and family we had there.

Titi Toni and Valentin

Auntie Susan, Alexis and Kyle enjoy some of the gifts

I LOVE THE SNOW!!!
We usually don't get much snowfall around here. Especially in Tacoma because of the water, but the last week or so has seen our area covered in the stuff. I love being outside and Sam has developed a love for it too. All morning long he points to the sliding door and waves his hands bye-bye to tell us he wants to play. He doesn't enjoy the bundling up part, but as soon as we're outside, he takes off running.

Papa and Sam

There are so many layers I can't get up! Help!

Mommy and Sam

Just chillin'
Mommy kisses are perfect for cold little cheeks

Playing in the snow.
Ben calls this "Ghetto Sledding". He puts Sam in our laundry basket and flings him up and down the ice. It's perfect because Sam can't fall over. He just sits there and laughs. I am so glad that Sam has a daddy who'll do these funny things with him. Memories are far more important than stuff.

A boy and his dad.
All tuckered out after a long day in the snow
